Testimonials

I am a 51 year old central Illinoisan diagnosed with Celiac Spru in July of this year. My daughter, living in St. Louis, recently brought your site to my attention after seeing an ad in "Riverfront Times." She stopped in yesterday and received excellent customer service and called me with choices from your walk in menu, which she brought to me last night. I had to write to tell you that, although I have tried only two things, both were delicious!!!!! I can't believe I have wasted so much money on mass produced inferior products from the grocery stores. I have thrown away more than I have kept. Your Snickerdoodles and pumpkin bread were so good that I could not tell them from the home made versions I thought I would never have again. My husband, who is not celiac, also thought they were excellent, and suggested we make a trip to St. Louis to see your store for ourselves. My diagnosis followed a harrowing surgery at Barnes and I lost over 1/3 of my original body weight. Regaining weight has been difficult with trying to learn to follow a gluten free diet. Your business is just what I needed. Sorry about this rambling note, but I had to let you know how appreciative I am. Thank you for your products and your service.

I’ve spent 30 years in the food service industry as well as worked as an Executive Chef in 2 of the St Louis area’s larger country clubs and I would have to say that although I am not someone who has to be on a gluten free diet I love the food at Beck’s. I frequently swing by for their chocolate chip cookies and my family loves the gooey butter cake and the lemon raspberry cake. No one would ever be able to tell they are gluten free!

I had the Chicken Florentine for lunch – it was absolutely SPECTACULAR! And that chocolate chip cookie would have satisfied the most die-hard wheat flour addict. I don’t know how you guys do it, but keep up the good work! I’m your customer from now on…

A huge Thank You for the great food you provided for my father's 90th bday party last month.  He was so thrilled to have a full buffet of food he could eat.  The BBQ was great, as was the pasta salad and birthday cake.  I must say, the lemon raspberry cake was the best I've ever had! I really appreciated your careful attention and the high quality all the way around. Have a great holiday season!

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in August '09, and, fortunately for me, Beck's had recently opened a mile from my house.  My initial favorite dish was the chicken pot pie, but I have now sampled -- and enjoyed --many of their offerings.
The gluten-free lifestyle is new to me so I have a lot to learn.  The owner, Joy, has proven to be a veritable encyclopedia of information regarding GF foods.  On those rare occasions when Beck's does not have what I am looking for, she is ready to suggest a source (example: some Dierbergs have Red Bridge gluten-free beer).
Having become a regular customer, I have now met all four owners of the business.  Small independently owned businesses are the backbone of the American economy.  Though I would not have chosen to develop celiac disease, I am very glad that Beck's is here to help me learn how to live with it.

I just wanted to let you at Beck's know how much our family enjoys your food.  My 9-year-old son and I both have Celiac disease and our home is gluten free.  My son's birthday is coming up and he wanted to invite some friends over for a sleepover.  This will be our first gluten free sleepover.  My first thought was to order lots of Beck's pizza for dinner!  My son loves your cinnamin rolls so those will be served for breakfast.  I don't have to worry about the "wheat eaters" picking at their "different" food.  No one will even know they are eating gluten free!
